It was a real pleasure to photograph this couples wedding day. She is funny, beautiful, easy going and he is a true gentleman. This day was a little extra special as the brides parents were also celebrating 25 years of marriage, what a blessing. We had somewhat expected rain for the day but we didn't see any, and the sun even decided to come out. It was rather chilly but the wedding party stuck it out and did great. We wish these two the Lords blessing as they begin their married life together, and for many more years to come.

This family is together for a little while this holiday season so it was a perfect time to get some pictures taken. It was a little chilly out on this morning, but wasn't too terribly cold and the kids did very well. Simply by being with them for a little while and taking their pictures, it was easy to see the love in this family and their time together was most likely full of laughter and joy. It was nice to see this family again, their little girls are growing away. Its neat to see the girls as they grow and always is nice to catch up a little with mom and dad too. It was pretty cold so we started inside at the Bellingham Ferry Terminal and then we were also able to jump outside for a bit.

This happy couple plans to marry next July. It was funny as they tried their hardest to keep a straight face for some shots, they usually ended up busting a gut. We did this session at Whatcom Falls park in Bellingham, and as you can see the couple and the scenery are beautiful.

These are really just some great kids, they are always a pleasure to be around. Since they own their own farm here in Everson it was neat to pull that into the pictures. As I did these pictures I was using our Nikon D700 for the first time, this camera is so heavy that my arm started to hurt. I basically get a weight workout while shooting. Anyway here is some shots of this cool family....

It was refreshing to be with this couple. They were so in love and carefree and just real neat to be with, I enjoyed being with them. She is absolutely stunning, and he is so completely in love with her. They are looking forward to an April wedding and it is sure to be a wonderful day. We were able to squeek this session in just as the seasons are starting to change and the days are getting darker earlier.

It was a real pleasure to take photos for these kids' mom. She is always so willing to lend a helping hand (even when she is like 38 weeks pregnant). I have benefited many times from her giving nature so I was so thankful that I could take her kids' pictures for her. We stayed inside for a bunch and then headed outside to catch some of the older kids alone. These are a few from inside and were even able to catch baby Cassie's first roll over.

This couples big day turned out beautiful. The bride loves the vintage look and themed her wedding that way and everything looked really, really nice. She was even able to find a vintage couch for us to haul around at pictures. We want to give a little shout out to the groomsmen who were very willing to carry the couch around for us. For some of their wedding photos they really wanted to have some pictures in a grassy type field, and with a little help from a few friends of mine I was able to find a great spot at Aldergrove Lake. We got some really neat photos there, and then we headed off to Fort Langley to finish off our time with them. Here are a few of their special day....

This session was origionally scheduled for the end of February, since then it has been rescheduled and rescheduled again and just when the weather cooperated with us I got sick. Finally just last week we managed to do it. These two are real sweet, and just melt my heart.

Friday proved to be a wet and well, a rather cold day. We got a little wet (and one person in particular got a little more wet than others) but before the rain set in, we were able to get some wedding party photos in downtown Lynden. It even tapered off for us to sqeeze in the family photos, but all in all the rain just adds to the memory of the day.

It was a beautiful wedding, and we wish the bride and groom all the Lords blessings as they make their new home in Hawaii.

Last Saturday was a busy day for us as we invited our family out to get some pictures done of their families. We needed a spot that had lots of versatility so we wouldn't duplicate the same background/poses. We went for Berthusen park and wasn't quite expecting that much snow to still be on the ground there but we still managed to find a few spots that were clear. Some families needed a quick family picture while others needed the kids' pictures updated. So we set to work and here is the very quickly touched up result of a few of them, more to come in the next day or two (after a bit of sleep :).

This fine family got together for Thanksgiving and took advantage of having everyone around to get a family photo, funny part is that mom and dad did not want to be part of the photo :) We were pretty happy that it warmed up after a cold couple of days.

Well it wasn't raining or sunny for this shoot, but it was cold. The littler ones would say a chattering 'cheeeese'. We had a fun time and were able to get some good pictures despite the cold.

On the day that this photo session was origionally scheduled, we got a call a few hours before hand telling us that this lovely lady was at the hospital in the ICU. She has diabetes and had something go very wrong for her. She spent about 8 days in the hospital and since then has also battled the flu, needless to say I think this past month is one she does not want to repeat real soon. We were thankful that all turned out alright for her and she is back on her feet and, as you will see, looking great!

We had a good time at this shoot, this was a fun family of four. The two boys are a couple of hams and wanted to keep moving like any 1 and 4 year do. The older one was able to 'help' us out by taking some pictures for us on an old camera we have in the bag from a garage sale, which made for a few cute pictures in itself. And then a little caterpillar came along and helped us out to. Here is a number of how things turned out.

We were surprised how cold it was when we did this shoot, fall has definantly come. These two are a wonderful couple and the two kids are cute, cute, cute! As I was editing a few of these in color moms hair continually jumped out, its a beautiful shade of red and brown with nice curls.

We were out at the great Berthusen Park and then headed to the Green Barn which Dave owns and operates, a great place to get your fruit and veggies and other yummy treats.

Kris was unable to come to this session so I was solo on this day. I headed to this session a little early just to check things out beforehand. What I didn't expect was 20 minutes of trying to find a parking spot. I should have known though, heading to Western in the middle of the afternoon right at the 2:00 hour. Therefore I was a little frazzled by the time I met this senior along with her mom and brother, but we worked through it. This session was a little special to do, since it wasn't only with this beautiful senior with great teeth :), but it was also with her autistic twin brother. He was funny and pretty much put a smile on my face for the rest of the day.

This session was a lot of fun with all credit going to the fine couple photographed, they were fun, natural and were up for whatever. Besides running a farm they have teenager schedules to work around too so we really appreciate their flexibility. It was a fun evening for us, we even got some corn on the cob out of the deal (yum can't wait for dinner tomorrow).

This little sweetheart just turned two, and listening to her talk is so cute as she is just starting to put a number of words together. She thought it would be fun to play 'lets not look at the camera'. But we just followed her around and let her be and we were able to catch her a few times, we even got some of mom and dad too!

Here is more of our lovely nieces and nephews. When my sister asked to get some pictures done she only needed one of her kids' pictures taken, since it has taken us so long to get to it she now pretty much needed them all done again. Here is just a few that we just got to tonight.

As you can see we finally have a watermark on our photos, it was one of those tasks that always sat at the bottom of the stack but we finally got something on the photos. It still needs a little tweaking but its getting there.

This little man has just turned five and was pretty tired after a birthday party on this day, but with a little encouragement from mom he was out the door, and then he was great for me! He smiled great and loved to pick the spots to stop and take pictures at. He did really well!!

This bunch of graduates was quite fun to photograph, the men were not too excited about getting some pictures taken but after a little bit they loosened (sp?) up. We went to the beautiful Fairhaven and Boulevard Park in Bellingham. The ladies looked lovely and the men looked pretty spiffy too all dressed up. The morning of this day was pouring rain and made us a little nervous, but just as shooting time arrived the rain stopped and the sun stayed away too. There was a lot, A LOT that edited out very nicely so it was a little hard choosing which to put on here.

After rescheduling a number of times due to weather, we were finally able to get together with this fine couple for an engagement session. They picked a beautiful place for some pictures, which was also were K proposed to L. They were really fun to get to know and we wish them well as they continue to plan for their wedding day.

We are not usually such big fans of the following editing look but for this one we think it worked well...

L has a beautiful diamond on her finger, good thing it wasn't too sunny or I'm sure we would've been blinded a few times. K did very well in picking this ring out!

L turned out to be quite the natural model :)

This session we were particularly excited to do, this is our brand new niece. She made mom and dad (and us) wait a whole extra week and a half. She has three pretty crazy and cute olders brothers who are pretty smitten with her. Miss E didn't particular like being naked as you may be able to see, but we were able to get some nice shots. I (Katrina) had the pleasure of having the three boys stay with me while mom and dad had a few days with sweetie pie E. She sure is a keeper and her brothers just crack me up and melt my heart too. This is just a few that edited out nicely.

This is our niece, she had a birthday a few months back and needed some pictures done. So we headed out for a walk and grabbed a bunch of shots. She was a lot of fun and was very willing to do whatever we asked. We had a good time.

We had this session scheduled since mom was about 6 or 7 months pregnant. Mom wanted to be able to have Christmas cards sent out with their new bundle and enlarged family, so last Saturday we got together and got it done. It was chilly but you can't tell a whole lot. The older girls did great and we were able to get some good shots, here are a few.

These three young men are all about the same height and all their names start with J, so it was a little tough keeping the names straight. They did great despite the freezing weather outside. Mom and Dad wanted a nice Chrismasy picture of the whole family before they head out for California on Monday, and with a little work we were able to sqeeze this session in.

This little one is brand new, just one week old. He is quite the little cutie. He decided he wanted to stay awake the whole time while we were shooting but that was just fine, hopefully that meant more sleep for mom and dad later.

This afternoon session turned out really nice, it was a wet week so earlier we were thinking we would have to reschedule but it nicely stayed dry all day. Poor little T had her teeth chattering most of the time, but she held out and did a great job. The colors at this time of year are fantastic!
